I enjoy captain mode. Enjoy the drafting system. But Lets be frank... there are not enough players left that play this way. There are ZERO inhouses happening on NA right now. NONE. ZILCH. ZIPPO. Everyone has retired. There are NO competitive games the way YOU want them played at all. I would expect EU is actually fairing better in this regard.
I am attempting to design a system that will in essence recreate a passion for the game from players that DO NOT inhouse regularily. I should qualify that I am not designing this league for Rus Mafia, HFP, SkyNA, Clique, Darks.... Their teams (and equivalent) who compete to win the tournies. are like 5-6 teams. Thats it. You guys can organize your tournaments and enjoy. Because those players cannot keep the whole system alive. When they retire from the game and NO ONE replaces them, what are u left with?
It is a completely subjective system. And If you would like to organize your own system go ahead. Complaining is easy when you dont have to do any work yourself. Its very possible EU can run on draft. I can tell you right now. A fully integrated NA/EU ladder system right now... involves maybe 1-2 clans from NA. Thats how dead it is. And most those players in the top 2 clans, are not logging in. So its more like ZERO clans.
I cant build your ladder system. Sorry. There isn't the people.
Maybe on EU there is... I don't log in there enough to know. But Strider does, which is why you can talk to him, and he will tell you his idea. I am pretty sure he has not thought about free pick mode.

I think you're the one not understanding what this is.
An AoS ladder with regularly scheduled matches isn't going to, especially over the summer, be particularly enticing to a more "casual crowd". This is for the dedicated players.
I'll go out on a limb and daresay those dedicated players would, on the whole, rather have a drafting system in place. That is a lot of people, a large portion of the current playerbase.
Who are all these people you are recreating passion for, making it worth it to alienate the rest? If they don't like inhousing because there is drafting there, then let them stay playing public games. If they don't like playing AoS period, this league, regardless of its banning system, won't change a thing.
About a lack of inhouses on NA? You can thank the developers and lack of community oversight for that, I would surmise. The NA scene was half-dead for months, I guess the final nail has simply been hammered into the coffin?
You need more players, you need new players. You want to get them involved. That is great! You completely misunderstand how to best go about that, however.
What you should want to do is setup some newbhouses where they are taught the ropes. (I.e. captains mode, not fucking 3G) Where they learn about hero roles, compositions, laning, etc. What you don't want to do is make new players accustomed to 3G. It reminds me of that movie Kung Pow, you know it? There is a guy in it who has intentionally been trained wrong by his master, so he thinks he is winning when he is losing.
Teaching newer players 3G or using it as a means to introduce them to inhouses/organized play is NOT doing them any favours, because those games are IN NO WAY representative of an actual inhouse (captains mode) experience.
If you are looking at simply dumbing down the whole experience further, and playing with freepicks simply because your friends (or whoever you are attempting to appeal to with these league rules) are too inexperienced or inept to do otherwise, why not remove bans altogether? You might as well. The difference between 3G and freepick with no bans is just about nothing anyway. its blind pick either way, so it really changes no dynamics.
Hell you should make warding against the rules of the league too - perhaps even consider making some set ready-made talent builds for the players to choose from? Maybe make it against the rules to change those builds, so everyone will be on entirely even, stupid footing? Sounds good to me.

Thats the Reason why, we have on EU (jnot sure if NA has it too) a group for new Players to train inh´s... I founded the Group about 3-4 Months ago... we try to do some games per week for the newer guys, with the help of some experienced guys... it was a bit sleepy in the time of tourny but now we reorganise it and we are making more games now... So it might help to get more/new people for the scene

Sounds like you 2 should organize the league on the EU side. And you can make any rules u want.

Yo Sphynx,
I understand 100% why you choosed 3g instead of classic draft (it don't means I agree with that), if you wanna make this IH league more popular and grab some new players you need to catch them with the loading screen, pubbers & CO don't check forum at all...

I agree with this. However, another approach might be to get people onto forum.

I don't want to cause conflict but who knows what will happen until it is tried. Its not hurting anyone here. I don't see why you guys are getting so up in arms about him trying to something new. Do you have to hammer him down just because he is the nail that sticks out?
